What-a-mistake to makeh!
Dario has brought to my attention that this week’s edition of the Blind Spot accidentally failed to delete the Blind Spot’s equivalent of Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam… which currently populates our main newsletter template.
Editorially, it’s just easier working from a template than coding all the HTML from scratch.
BUT just to be clear! Dario definitely has no burning views about gaseous cow outputs. The below comment (in pink) sits as part of our standing backend template… which, I, Izabella Kaminska, made over a year ago.
I don’t know what possessed me to fill it with a narrative about cow flatulence. I guess I thought it would be mildly amusing to draw on a fabricated narrative from the depths of my mind pertaining to cows rather than go for the obvious Cicero citation. Next time, I will at least translate it into Latin.
Luckily, not too many of you noticed. (Though I’m not sure that’s a good thing!)
Anyway, in case you were wondering, we weren’t messing with your minds; we just inadvertently made our behind-the-scenes workflows public. It’s a sign, if anything, that we need a couple of weeks off and that ChatGPT is no replacement for our very much human proofreader, Del, (who recently left us for bigger and better things). We miss you Del!
At minimum, we hope you were amused.
Ed note: Dario, can you please amend the template thusly:
COMMENTARIUM: Dario hic.
– The Cow Times
